Established in 1959 we are now the Midlands leading supplier to the medical, contract furnishing, upholstery, soft play and automotive industry and work hard to introduce new customers to a list of clients that go back many years. George Danby & Son Ltd, a family business, was established by George and his son Pete in 1959 and soon became the Midlands sole stockist of Dunlopillo.
In the 1960’s expansion was achieved with the introduction of polyurethane foams when the company branched out to supply the upholstery trade from its sites in Frog Island and then Whetstone, Leicester. After Pete Danby retired, in the mid nineties, we moved to a larger site in Barwell, Leicestershire and started a phase of expansions that culminated in the investment of two state of the art Baumer CNC machines adding to the existing machinery enabling us to venture into different industries introducing new and innovative products to our existing products list.

Finished Healthcare Products
In April 2021 we invested in a Sala roll press machine enabling us to press and roll pack many different sizes of mattress’s for both domestic and healthcare, drastically reducing our customers storage and transport costs. Sala are world leaders in manufacturing machines for the bedding industry and the installation of the Sala RP_120.Bex-AR1 means that we can cut, cover, roll pack and barcode finished products therefor fulfilling all our customer’s needs.
